Southern Kayak Anglers 2013 Tournament Trail

River Stalkers is proud to announce the release off the 2013 Southern Kayak Anglers Tournament Trail. We are proud members of the SKA and the SKA series is the official tournament trail of riverstalkers.com. 2013 promises a nice mixture of lake and river events to attract all styles of kayak fishermen. The May 4th Lake Weiss/Brushy Branch/Coosa River event is a free style, launch anywhere river event that lets you pick and run a section of the Coosa to Lake Weiss. This is prime river spot country here! The June 8th Catawba run promises some huge limits; ask River Stalker Stewart! He has pulled countless bass over 5 pounds out of this river include a stud 8.10! Road trip, carpool, hitchhike, do whatever you have to do to make this event. You may win a few hundred bucks or catch your new personal best! Finally, the July 13th Hooch Shootout opens up a large stretch of the Chattahoochee River. This stretch holds large mouth, spots, and shoal bass, but don't be disheartened when a 20 pound striped bass makes you think you just caught the tournament winner! Seriously, this stretch is loaded with monster striper! Along with the three river events, SKA will be hosting a fun-run down the Etowah River chasing striped bass, large mouth, and spots. This will truly be an awesome social!

Aside from the prime river fishing, we also are testing our skills on the flat water! Stone Mountain is loaded with big large mouth and Lake Chatuge is one of the finest spot fisheries in the Southeast. Need I remind you that Chatuge produced the largest ever bag in SKA history last season? 2013 also launches the inaugural Junior Division. There will be two events on private, manage lakes where youngsters can test their mettle and make a statement to the angling world. Is your up an coming young angler ready? 

To be eligible for the championship on October 19th at Lake Chatuge, you must fish at least 3 events. Luckily, the KBF Open/Invitational will count as a qualifying event. Your top 2 fish from the KBF will count toward your 10 fish stringer. Simply put, your top 10 fish of the 2013 season will determine the overall SKA 2013 Champion. So, if you can't make an event or something comes up, don't worry, you can still take home the crown.
